Where is this shop based?

We’re a small, independently run shop out of Washington State. Most of what we do happens online and through local pop-ups and events.

Are your books new or used?

Both. Some are brand new, some have lived a little life already. Either way, we choose everything intentionally, and we won’t send something out that we wouldn’t be happy to receive ourselves.

What is the condition of the books you sell?

Every book that comes into Bent Ear Books is personally inspected before it finds its way onto our shelves. We use the condition descriptions below to give you a general sense of what to expect.NewA brand-new book that has not been previously owned or read. It is in new condition with no signs of previous use. Any minor visible imperfections are the result of handling or shipping from the supplier.Like NewNearly indistinguishable from a new book. Pages are clean and unmarked, with no folding, highlighting, writing, or annotations. The cover, spine, and binding are clean and in excellent condition, with little to no visible wear.Very GoodA well-cared-for book that may show a little evidence of having been read. You might notice minor shelf wear, a small crease, or light signs of handling, but the book is clean, sturdy, and in very good overall shape.GoodA book that has clearly been read and enjoyed, with more noticeable signs of use. It may have shelf wear, creasing, or other cosmetic imperfections, while remaining complete, sturdy, and fully readable.FairA well-loved book with more noticeable wear. It may have heavier creasing, scuffing, writing, highlighting, or other signs of use. The book remains complete and readable, but its history is more apparent.We do not sell books in poor or unreadable condition.

Will you restock items?

Sometimes, but not always. A lot of what we carry is limited or one-of-a-kind, especially used books. If something speaks to you, it’s probably worth not waiting too long.

Do you offer local pickup?

If we’re doing a local event or pop-up, we may offer pickup. Otherwise, everything ships.

Can I ask you to find a specific book?

You can always ask. We can’t promise we’ll find it, but we like a good search when it feels right.
