One of the many things books can help us with is listening more closely to ourselves, to each other, and to the world around us.
Our clubs and events are built around thoughtful conversation, curiosity, and connection. They're not about having the "right" interpretation of a book or being the smartest person in the room. They're about exploring ideas together and making space for different perspectives.

PNW Readers Club
Founded in 2024 by Bent Ear Books owner Becci Carroll, PNW Readers Club began as the PNW Nonfiction Book Club, a small gathering of readers looking for connection. Becci started the group as a way to make new friends and find a sense of community, with books offering a natural place to start coversations.
Over time, the group grew into something more than a nonfiction book club. Readers came together regularly to select and read books together, share ideas, explore different perspectives, and have the kinds of conversations that you often only have with those closest to you.
In 2026, the club became the official reading community of Bent Ear Books and we decided to change it's name to PNW Readers Club as we added fiction to our group reads.
Whether you love nonfiction, get lost in a good novel, or are simply looking for thoughtful conversations and a place to connect with other readers, there's a place for you here.
Book Socials
Not every reader wants to commit to reading the same book or joining a formal book club. Sometimes you just want to meet interesting people, talk about great books, and enjoy good conversation. That's what our Book Socials are for.
These relaxed gatherings bring readers together to share what they're currently reading, recommend favorite books, and discover new ones. Conversations often wander beyond books into movies, current events, travel, life experiences, and whatever else sparks curiosity. Books simply give us an easy place to begin.
Join us online or at bookstores, coffee shops, breweries, wineries, parks, and other welcoming gathering places throughout the Pacific Northwest. Whether you're an avid reader, an audiobook listener, or just looking to connect with thoughtful people in your community, you'll find a seat at the table.
Come prepared to share a book you're enjoying, or simply come to listen. There's no assigned reading, no pressure, and no expectations beyond being respectful and curious.
After all, the best stories often begin with a conversation.
